Austin and Jeff went up the mountain last week over Spring Break to do some work. When they got back I found these pictures. Looks like they were having more fun than working!!! :-)

Last Easter Post, Promise!!

I love Easter. It is so nice to have our family all together, get dressed up in our new spring clothes and go to church. I especially love going to eat lunch at the club. It has become a tradition to do that for lunch and it is so nice and relaxing to spend that time enjoying each other. I wanted to show you one final picture of our day. I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter.

Easter Morning

Brittney couldn't wait to get to her Easter basket this morning. She gave up sweets for Lent this year and wanted chocolate so bad that she was willing to give up her extra sleep (as you can see by the bottom picture). I will probably be in trouble for showing this picture but I couldn't resist!! :-) She did finally cheer up, as did Austin after a little chocolate in their system.

Easter Eggs

The kids and I died Easter eggs last night. This is the first time in a few years that we have done them and it was a lot of fun.


We decided that next year we will use the vinegar recipe so that we can get really bright colored eggs.

Marc is 40!!!

What a great time was had by all of us at Marc's 40th birthday party. It's hard to believe that all of us will be 40 soon (if we're not already!) It is so much fun to be able to hang out with family and friends.

Jeff's first field trip

The 4th Grade at Forest Hill Elementary took a great field tripto Raleigh on Thursday. Jeff was able to go with Austin on the first field trip with either of the kids. They had such a great time throughout the day. Each chaperon had 4 kids that they watched out for throughout the day. Here is Jeff and Austin on the way to Raleigh. They toured the NC Museum of History, NC Museum of Science and the Legislative building. Though all of the kids really enjoyed their day, the hi-lite of their trip seemed to be stopping at McDonald's on the way home. Oh to be a kid again!!!

Austin got a haircut!!!!

Austin got a haircut Monday. Jeff gave him an ultimatum, get your hair cut on your own or he was going to take him to Tommy at the barber shop. Austin chose to go with me. He looks really cute and older, but I miss his long hair!!

Dinner at Kobe's

The Messenheimer's, the Julien's, the Reibel's and us had so much fun. We will definitely have to do this again!!

A couple of weeks ago (before the Carolina/Duke game) a group of us went to Hickory for Sushi and Japanese food. Our chef was great (though he wouldn't try to guess which ounes of us were couples like our first server did. (He did great by the way got 1/2 of us right!)
