Just had to share!!!

I could not help but share these pictures of my cute little nephew at the barn with Belle the other day. I wish that I could have had Brittney and Austin around horses at his age. I grew up with them and I love the way that it feels to be around such a wonderful animal!!

He had so much fun sitting on Belle and riding on her back for a little while that afternoon. Brittney had a great time too with him and being able to show off to her Uncle Earnie by jumping Belle for him. I hate that we didn't get any pictures of that too!!

New Again

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gh7icqR9zEY

Here is a link to the video by Brad Paisley and Sara Evans. It is a very moving video about the Crucifixion of Christ. The song is beautiful and has evidently been out for a while, though I am just now hearing it for the first time. I don't know how some will feel about this and if you have a weak stomach, this may not be for you because it does show Jesus being nailed to the cross. I really felt moved to show this, so I had to put the link to the video on the blog.

A word from me

What a great week that we have had. Jeff has been home more, which has been nice and the bad weather seems to just keep missing us. There were a lot of things that had to be accomplished this week and we made it! I wanted to let everyone know a few things that have been going on.

First, I went to my second weeks weigh in at Weight Watchers and I lost another .6 pounds. That is a grand total so far of 5.2 pounds. I know that this week was a major difference from last, but it is still an advance towards my goal weight loss.

I am still waiting on my other doctors appointment to be set so that I can hopefully once and for all find out what is going on with me. I will let everyone know when that comes about.

The kids have been practicing really hard for the play next week (28th, 29th, and 2nd) at WJMS. I know they are ready for the production and Jeff and I can't wait to see them both. We are so proud of them.

On another note. A prayer of thanksgiving has to be given. Thank you to all who kept my step-mother Cathy in your prayers. They received her CAT scan back on Friday and were very optimistic because they saw no lesions on her brain. They were going to go today for the PET scan. I will let everyone know when we get the results back on that. Please keep both her ad my Daddy in your prayers.

How cute is my nephew?

My brother and Courtney came to visit this weekend and brought my nephew Joshua. Is he not the cutest little one that you have ever seen. He will be 9 months old on the first of Feb. I couldn't help but show the cute pictures of him over the weekend.

Sunday School Social

Our Sunday School class had a social at our house Saturday night. It was great to get together with our families. The weather turned out to be fabulous to build a couple of bonfires in our backyard and roast hotdogs. And of course, how can you have a bonfire without marshmallows. Thanks to everyone that could come (we missed those that couldn't). We need to do something like this more often.

Brittney went to a great volleyball camp today hosted by a traveling team, The Foothills Fury. The top picture is the team. The girls range from 14 to 18. The camp was great!!

The pictures below are of everyone that attended, as well as the team and their coaches. The top of course, the girls are trying to be serious, the one below shows their real personality. Fun and goofy!!!!

Edward's Birthday

Austin and friends joined in to help Edward celebrate his 10th birthday last night. The had a great time at the party and the fun of the night was sleeping bag sliding (down the stairs, that is!). Remember what fun it was to be a kid?

ACC Chili Cookoff

I don't know how many people have ever gone to the Chili Cookoff, but it is really good. The date is March 14th from 11-1, but I will be selling tickets for it for $6. This is a great fundraiser for the Downtown Development Association. They are raising money for a mural project that will feature local artists paiting beautiful scenes throughout blank walls in town. I think this is a wonderful idea and can't wait to see it begin.

Let me know if you want tickets and I will get them to you. I will also let you know soon what the exact date of the event will be.

Awards Banquets, Play, etc.

I wanted to share with everyone a few things going on with the kids.

First, both of them made AB Honor role this past 9 weeks. I am so proud of both of them, they strive to do really well in school and it shows.

Second, they are both working really hard on Willy Wonka that will be coming up at the end of the month. I am so excited about seeing them in the play. I can't wait to show how cute they are in costume. If anyone is interested in coming to watch the play let me know, I have tickets that the kids are selling.

Third, Austin has his first real girlfriend, Heidi. She is a cute litle blonde that all the boys love! Haha. We went shopping for a gift the other night and he got her a stuffed pick dog and a really big Hersey Kiss. He took it to her this morning and was so nervous it was cute. I don't think I have ever seen him like this.

My first weigh in

I was a little nervous about my first Weigh In today. I have worked really hard this week. I have started drinking 64+ ounces of water a day on top of really working hard on keeping my food within my points for the day. It has been a lot harder than I thought it would be but it paid off - I lost 4.6 pounds!!!

Same goal again for next week - 3 pounds.

I am also going back to the doctor tomorrow for more updates on my blood work. I will let you know how that all turns out. Thank you to everyone for all our you thoughts and prayers.

First Weight Watchers Visit

I started Weight Watchers today. I don't know how it will work for me until I get my body issues worked out, but I know that it will make me feel better about myself regardless of the weight loss, though every pound counts. Please keep me in your thoughts that by next week I will see a difference.

My goal for the first week of weight loss is 3 pounds. I will keep you all posted. I have a total goal of 60 pounds. (I can do it!!!)

Laura - Great Bunco Time and Dinner!!!!

It is Bunco time again. I forgot my camera this time so had to borrow some from Laura (thanks). We had such a great time, the company was great as usual. It was great to have Jona back this month!!! Laura did a great job on the dinner and the chocolate fondue was wonderfullllll. It was also great to that I had the last Bunco of the night (Thank's Laura for the GC to The Kitchen Connection).

PS: Amanda - Jon Bon Jovi will be 46 on March 2nd!!!!

Gab time...

I went to the doctor again today for more bloodwork. They are doing 9 additional tests to see if we can't narrow down what is going on with me even more. I really hope that we can get to the bottom of it very soon as I am getting more and more depressed about my continual weight gain. I have decided to start Weight Watchers this week with Libby. I know that in the past everything I have tried has not worked without medical intervention, but this will at least make me personally feel better about my weight. It wil also be a great way for the entire family to take up better eating habits for the long haul.

The kids are getting really busy with their schedules too. The play that they are both participating in is at the end of the month, so it's practice, practice, practice!! I hope I can hold up through all of the rushing around. I can't wait to see both of them act on the stage. I will keep everyone posted on how they are doing.

I will gab again soon....
